The United States carried out a new round of airstrikes against Iranian military targets as fighting continued to spread across the Middle East. CNN’s live coverage said the operation followed Iranian missile launches aimed at American forces stationed in Jordan.
Iranian missiles and drones were also reported across several countries in the region, including Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Egypt. CNN reported that governments were assessing casualties and damage to military, energy, and civilian infrastructure.
President Donald Trump warned that additional military action could follow if attacks on U.S. personnel and regional allies continued. American and Israeli forces remained on heightened alert while Iran maintained that its operations were a response to strikes against its territory.
Diplomatic efforts continued alongside the fighting, with regional governments calling for restraint and stronger measures to protect civilians. The widening exchange has disrupted air travel, increased security concerns, and placed additional pressure on energy markets.
