Lainey Wilson is bringing a different energy to her music with her latest single, Kinda Love It, blending her country roots with a more pop-influenced sound.
Released October 9, the upbeat track marks another creative step for the country star. Wilson teamed up with John Mayer, Kid Harpoon, and Jon Decious to write the song, which explores the excitement of falling for someone who might bring a little trouble along the way.
The accompanying music video adds a personal touch, featuring Wilson’s husband, former NFL quarterback Devlin “Duck” Hodges. The couple appears together on their farm, with Hodges driving an ATV as Wilson joins him for the ride.
Kinda Love It also reflects Wilson’s willingness to experiment with different musical styles while keeping her recognizable voice and storytelling at the center.
The release comes during another busy chapter in her career. Wilson is preparing to host the 60th Annual CMA Awards, where she has earned three nominations.
