Mike Patton has opened the door to a difficult possibility. In a recent interview, the Faith No More frontman indicated the band may no longer be active, saying he doubts the group will work together again.
Patton’s comments come years after the band abruptly canceled its 2021 tour dates. At the time, he cited serious mental health challenges and said he was not in a place to perform. The shows were scrapped just days before they were set to begin, and the band has remained silent ever since.
Faith No More, formed in the early 1980s, became a defining force in alternative rock with albums like The Real Thing and Angel Dust. Their blend of metal, funk, and experimental sounds influenced a generation of artists. The group reunited in 2009 after an 11-year hiatus and released Sol Invictus in 2015.
Now, Patton has acknowledged that the band’s future looks uncertain. There has been no official breakup announcement, but his remarks suggest that Faith No More’s run may have quietly reached its end.
